Alentejo 2030 Supports Climate Resilience, Prevention, and Climate-Related Risk Management

July 3, 2026

The Alentejo 2030 Programme has launched a call for proposals with a budget of 680,000 euros to support initiatives that strengthen the territory’s resilience to climate change and promote the prevention and management of climate-related risks.

In a statement, the Commission for Coordination and Regional Development (CCDR) of Alentejo said that the call for proposals falls within the Climate Action and Sustainability priority.

“The call covers the Alentejo region (NUTS II), with the exception of parishes included in the ITI Water and Landscape Ecosystems Territory,” the CCDR noted.

With a financial allocation of 680,000 euros and a maximum co-financing rate through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of up to 85%, applications will proceed in 10 phases, until 31 May 2027.

The initiative aims to “reduce the territory’s vulnerabilities, deepen knowledge, and promote the dissemination of information about the impacts of climate change on populations, natural systems, and the various sectors of activity.”

According to the CCDR Alentejo, the aim is to support actions that contribute to reducing the territory’s vulnerabilities to climate change, strengthening territorial resilience and disseminating information and knowledge about climate impacts.

Applications are open to the central public administration, to municipalities, associations of municipalities and other public or non-profit entities, through a protocol or cooperation with CCDR or inter-municipal entities.
