The level of activity in urban rehabilitation grew by 7.4% year-on-year in April, and the order book increased by 4.0%, according to the barometer of the sector association AICCOPN, released today.
“The beginning of the second quarter of 2026 revealed a positive evolution in the urban rehabilitation segment,” says the Association of the National Civil Construction and Public Works Industrialists (AICCOPN), pointing to “a positive adjustment in the main confidence indicators.”
With regard to contracted production, an indicator that estimates the time horizon of activity guaranteed at a normal execution pace, it stood at 9.6 months, increasing from the previous month, but still below the 10.5 months recorded in the same period last year.
As for licensing of rehabilitation works, up to March (the month to which the latest available data relate), a year-on-year drop of 14.4% was recorded, with both branches of the market registering a contraction, of 12.4% in the housing segment and 17.6% in the non-residential.
According to a caveat from AICCOPN, licensing data only cover operations subject to prior municipal control, not reflecting the totality of ongoing rehabilitation interventions.
