BOTSWANA: HIV/AIDS appeal attracts Norwegian attention
Botswana’s appeal to the international community for HIV/AIDS assistance has attracted the attention of the Norwegian government.
President Festus Mogae said the country's shortage of doctors, pharmacists and laboratory technicians had been exacerbated by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
After meeting the new Norwegian ambassador, the local Daily News Online service quoted Mogae as saying: "I am delighted to learn that the Norwegian government is actively considering our request for assistance with medical personnel."
