In a press conference to report on the main decisions of the Council of Ministers today, António Leitão Amaro confirmed the approval of the strategy, with measures for the mitigation of climate change and for society’s adaptation to its impacts, such as heat, droughts, fires, or floods.

Emphasizing that Portugal is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change, the minister said that the strategy now approved could be discussed and approved by Parliament by the end of the summer, having extended the current strategy until the end of the year to give time for the approval of the new one.
