The Algarve-based Vila Vita Parc has been recognized as Portugal’s Leading Green Hotel in this year’s edition of the World Travel Awards 2025, “reinforcing its position as a reference with regard to sustainability in the national and international hotel sector,” according to a press release.
“Being distinguished by both industry tourism specialists and our own guests reinforces the impact of the conscious choices we make every day,” emphasizes André Matos, Corporate Quality Executive Director, head of sustainability at the Algarve resort. “This prize inspires us to continue promoting innovative practices that ensure a more balanced future for tourism,” he adds.
Regarded as the “Oscars of Tourism,” these awards celebrate excellence across all segments of the travel, hospitality and tourism industry. The winners are chosen through a vote conducted by professionals in the travel and tourism industry and by the general public, thus capturing the views of experts and guests who pass through the resort.
The award attributed to Vila Vita Parc underscores the resort’s ongoing commitment to responsible and innovative practices that promote a more conscious and sustainable tourism. Since its opening, Vila Vita Parc “has consistently invested in initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its operation and fostering the well-being of its guests, employees and the surrounding community, with measures such as the active promotion of recycling and waste reduction or the efficient management of water and energy resources. The attention given to the responsible use of chemical products and ongoing support for social and cultural projects in the region also contribute to the resort continuing to be an example in the field of sustainability,” the note states.
