MOZAMBIQUE: Donors to be asked to make good on pledges
The Association of European Parliamentarians for Africa (AWEPA) is to pressurise donors for increased support to combat HIV/AIDS on the continent, Mozambique's official news agency, AIM, reported on Monday.
AWEPA chairman Nico Scholten told delegates at a recent AIDS meeting in the capital, Maputo, that developed countries should be forced to make good on their promises, and said AWEPA would use existing European monitoring strategies to ensure that pledges of assistance were honoured.
