ETHIOPIA: Meeting highlights need for national HIV/AIDS workplace policy

It is crucial for Ethiopia to develop a national HIV/AIDS workplace policy in order for the country's labour force to be treated fairly, experts say.

Speaking at a meeting on the country's draft workplace HIV/AIDS intervention document on Tuesday, Tadesse Aynalem, president of the NGO, Dawn of Hope Ethiopia Association, said the continued spread of HIV/AIDS was challenging not only development and growth, but also human rights and human dignity.

He added that a national document would enable a practical response by companies to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS in the workplace.
