SWAZILAND: Increased AIDS funding despite poor donor response - King

Swazi King Mswati III plans to allocate increased funding for HIV/AIDS prevention programmes and initiatives aimed at orphans and vulnerable children, the Associated Press reported.

In a speech delivered during the recent opening of Swaziland's parliament, the monarch accused international donors of not doing enough to address AIDS in the hard-hit nation.

Meanwhile, Mswati called upon the nation - which has an estimated adult HIV prevalence of over 40 percent - to protect their families from the pandemic.
