ZAMBIA: Capital to host First Ladies' AIDS conference

The Organisation of African First Ladies Against AIDS (OAFLA) will gather in Lusaka, the Zambian capital, this week to discuss better ways of tackling the pandemic.

OAFLA, established in 2002, aims to encourage the participation of the continent's first ladies in the battle against the disease.

According to Zambia's Sunday Mail newspaper, the first ladies of Zambia, Mozambique, Burundi, Mali and Kenya have indicated that they may be present at the 20 May conference, while Rwanda, Ghana and Gabon have confirmed their attendance.
