GHANA: AIDS efforts hailed as Canada pledges support
Canada has lauded Ghana's anti-AIDS efforts by pledging future support for tackling the pandemic.
In a message to mark World AIDS Day, the Canadian High Commissioner in Ghana, Donald Bobiash, said HIV/AIDS in Africa was part of every project proposal considered by the Canadian International Development Agency.
The Ghana News Agency quoted Bobiash as saying: "We are committed to helping Ghana and Africa in this important struggle to save lives."
At the time of Ghana's 2003 Sentinel survey, 3.6 percent of the country's 19 million people were living with HIV and AIDS.
