MOZAMBIQUE: Spain assists in AIDS training
The Spanish authorities have announced that they will assist Mozambique during 2004 in training medical staff in the proper administration of anti-AIDS drugs.
Spanish Health Minister Ana Pastor recently told reporters the training would provide the staff with knowledge about antiretroviral drugs, and how to follow up the progress of people receiving the treatment.
Pastor said the training would involve support from the University of Barcelona, with financing by Spain and the Global AIDS Fund.
The total amount of Spanish aid to the Mozambican health sector is currently estimated at US $3.2 million per year.
