NAMIBIA: More HIV/AIDS millions due

A multimillion dollar agreement to tackle HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in Namibia could soon be signed between the government and the Global AIDS Fund.

Namibia was granted close to US $20 million in 2003, for the first year of a five-year programme to tackle the three diseases.

According to Tim Clark of the Fund's external relations office, Namibia's Ministry of Health was responsible for coordinating the grant application.

In an interview with a local newspaper, The Namibian, Clark said the ministry expected to sign the agreement by February and was busy finalising "the systems they have set up accordingly".
