NIGERIA: Postal service to stamp out stigma

Nigeria is set to use postal stamps as an HIV/AIDS education tool, the local newspaper Vanguard reported on Wednesday.

In a combined effort, the Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) and the Nigerian Red Cross aims to use postal stamps to eradicate HIV/AIDS-related stigma.

NIPOST postmaster-general, Alhaji Abubakar, said the stamps would be an effective means of reaching people in rural areas.

He added that proceeds would go towards a number of charities with a specific interest in health and child welfare.
