GHANA: Hotels no breeding ground for AIDS

Ghana's government has urged hoteliers to support the country's tourism industry in the fight against HIV/AIDS, local newspaper the Ghanaian Chronicle reported on Tuesday.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Sampson Boafo, has encouraged hoteliers to promote the use of condoms and to display HIV/AIDS material at their establishments.

Addressing a Tourist Board seminar on Monday, Boafo said 1.5 million HIV/AIDS cases could be prevented each year in sub-Saharan Africa if condoms were used.
