NIGERIA: Further funding to combat HIV/AIDS
Nigeria's Yobe (northern) and Nassarawa (central) states will benefit from a US $10 million loan for the treatment of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, local newspaper This Day reported on Tuesday.
The US Export-Import Bank (EX-IM), on Monday signed the guaranteed loan agreement for the supply of medical equipment, supplies and services for the two states.
EX-IM director, Joseph Grandmaison, said apart from providing hospitals and mobile clinics, the fund would also focus on the treatment of tuberculosis, cholera, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
EX-IM has guaranteed the cover of financing fees, project-related architecture and engineering services in the two states.
