NAMIBIA: Activists call for affordable treatment
An HIV/AIDS lobby group on Monday welcomed Namibia's five-year period of funding from the UN Global AIDS Fund.
However, the Treatment Action Forum (TAF) expressed concern over the current lack of affordable treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS.
"This is an extremely welcome development. However, more still needs to be done to ensure that all Namibians can enjoy the right to the highest attainable standard of health," TAF said in a statement.
TAF said it will hold candlelight vigils in three Namibian towns on Tuesday for all the lives claimed by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
