NAMIBIA: New hope for children affected by HIV/AIDS

Namibian NGO Catholic AIDS Action (CAA) on Monday said the approval of a US $113 million grant by the Global AIDS Fund to Namibia could be a turning point in the campaign to fight HIV/AIDS.

"It will still be some time before we receive the money, but that NGOs and the government are working more closely together, is a leap forward in the country's efforts to combat HIV/AIDS," CAA's finance manager, Paul Clough told the UN news service Plusnews.

Namibia's grant over five years is part of an approved US $866 million from the UN Global Fund against HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria to 60 developing countries.
