GLOBAL: Straight Talk with Eric Goosby, head of PEPFAR
The US president's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has committed about US$32 billion to the global fight against HIV since its launch in 2003, making it the largest donor for HIV/AIDS globally. Following annual increases in contributions, however, PEPFAR has effectively flat-lined funding from 2009.

This open forum will include sessions on the current global TB drug development portfolio, key issues in the critical path to TB drug registration, the designing of pivotal trials, the conducting of registration trials in high TB burden countries, the challenges in TB drug development for resistant disease, and the development of regimens containing multiple novel agents.

2. New guidance for HIV prevention for people who inject drugs - US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
The new guidance allows PEPFAR support for a comprehensive package of prevention services scientifically demonstrated to decrease HIV infection risk without increasing drug use, including needle and syringe programmes and expansion of methadone and other medication-assisted treatment to HIV-negative IDUs.

1. Clinical Psychologist, International Medical Corps (IMC) - Walikale/Chambucha, Democratic Republic of Congo
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies for building the capacity of healthcare providers and communities to provide psychological and psychosocial support to survivors of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) and ex-combatants;
- Develop staff and community training programmes on psychosocial support and reintegration;
- Identify and reinforce existing support mechanisms and work closely with local counterparts to ensure community buy-in and cultural appropriateness;
- Work closely with IMC partner organizations providing community based psychosocial support for SGBV survivors;
- Coordinate with local and international NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support for survivors, including participation in developing and/or maintaining GBV referral pathways.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in clinical and/or social psychology;
- Experience with individual and group psychotherapy and counselling;
- Experience developing staff training programmes;
- Fluency in English and French required;
- Three to five years experience in rape, SGBV and/or post traumatic stress disorder counselling, of which at least one year is in a developing country;
- Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects;
- Supervisory experience;
- Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs;
- Profound cross-cultural awareness.

2. East Africa HIV & AIDS Programme Officer, Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) - Nairobi, Kenya
Responsibilities:
- Supporting partner organizations in the implementation of their HIV and AIDS programme activities, monitoring their projects and evaluating their impact.
Qualifications:
- Significant development work experience in the East African context, with proven experience in project or programme development especially HIV and AIDS response programmes;
- Good interpersonal skills and confidence in building relationships with a range of partners are essential;
- Good written English and a working knowledge of Swahili.
