Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV) renewed its certification to the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, which recognize, respectively, the adoption of best practices in quality management and environmental management, as announced in a press release.
According to the same source, for SPV’s approximately 8,000 clients, the certified management system helps ensure more consistent and reliable processes, greater transparency in management and decision-making, and the ability to identify and correct processes and methodologies.
Within the scope of this certification, auditors highlighted the know-how of the teams and the involvement of top management and employees as strengths. All these factors “represent an additional guarantee that SPV conducts its activities in accordance with internationally recognized standards of quality and environmental management, maintaining a focus on the improvement of the services provided.”
“The successive renewal of this certification is a recognition of the work we do daily and the involvement of the entire team. The fact that the audit progressed without non-conformities and highlighted the know-how of our people demonstrates the importance of having an organization prepared to respond to the challenges of a sector in constant evolution, with priority given to the service we provide to our customers and partners,” says the CEO of Sociedade Ponto Verde, Ana Trigo Morais.
As SPV celebrates 30 years of activity, it recognises that its evolution results not only from new solutions and projects, but also from the existence of a culture of transparency, learning and excellence. More than a recognition of compliance, this certification “reflects SPV’s commitment to complying with its license, the consistency of processes and the continuous improvement of the organization.”
This commitment is reflected in SPV’s Integrated Management Policy, which sets the guiding principles of the organization in the areas of quality, sustainability and value creation. Through it, SPV “seeks to reinforce its role as the leading managing entity in the process of valorisation of packaging waste in Portugal, to provide a quality service, to comply with applicable legal, regulatory and statutory requirements, to promote environmental protection and to use resources in a sustainable manner.”
As the managing entity of the Integrated System for the Management of Packaging Waste (SIGRE), SPV was a pioneer in obtaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications simultaneously, in 2007. The maintenance of these certifications reinforces the organization’s path toward a management model oriented to quality, environmental management and continuous improvement.
