Paredes Installs 30 New Oil Bins to Promote Household Cooking Oil Recycling

November 2, 2026

The Municipality of Paredes has expanded the network of oil collection bins in the municipality, with the aim of encouraging the recycling of domestic used cooking oil (UCO). Since September, 30 new oil collection bins have been installed, distributed across the parishes, ensuring proximity and access for thousands of citizens, according to a press release.

According to the same source, “this initiative allows the population of Paredes to have more collection points, making the recycling of UCO more practical, closer and accessible.”

To recycle, simply let the oil cool, store it in a tightly closed plastic bottle, and deposit it in the oil bin. From there, EcoMovimento takes over the process and ensures that the waste is directed toward valorization.

The aim is that this waste, which when poorly discarded can cause serious environmental damage, be transformed into new energy solutions, thereby contributing to the circular economy.
