New Outdoor Campaign Promotes Informed Choices About Packaging Materials

September 21, 2026

A AIVE – Association of Packaging Glass Manufacturers launched a new outdoor campaign that aims to bring packaging literacy to public spaces, helping consumers to better understand the materials that come into contact with the foods and beverages they consume and to make more informed purchasing decisions, according to a press release.

According to the same source, with presence at the Lisbon and Porto Metro stations, the initiative places side by side different packaging materials, revealing in a simple and visual way the components of their manufacturing process. The aim is to promote reflection on the importance of packaging, showing that the quality of what we eat also depends on how the product is packaged and stored.

Under the motto “Go shopping? Your choice is more than the product,” the campaign invites consumers to look beyond the foods and beverages they put in their cart and to consider also the materials of the packaging that house the products they consume. Because knowing the packaging is also a relevant part of a conscious choice.

Glass, produced only from natural raw materials (silica sand, sodium carbonate, and limestone), without harmful substances, presents itself as a packaging option with undeniable health benefits, helping to preserve the quality, nutritional properties, taste and aroma of foods, in a safe manner.

With MARCO’s creativity, the campaign reinforces the Association’s mission to promote packaging choices that are more conscious, informed and responsible, taking into account their impact on health and the environment.
