Iberdrola | bp pulse and Electromaps announced today, in a press release, a partnership aimed at boosting electric mobility in Portugal. Through this partnership, Iberdrola | bp pulse becomes the first electric mobility operator to have its charging network integrated into Electromaps in Portugal.
According to the same source, the focus of this partnership is guaranteed interoperability, enabling Electromaps users to use the Iberdrola | bp pulse network also in Portugal. This aligns with the commitment of both companies to make the user experience increasingly simple and transparent.
The Iberdrola | bp pulse network already includes more than 500 fast and ultra-fast charging points in Portugal, and more than 2,500 across the Iberian Peninsula, located in strategic locations, with capacities up to 600 kW.
This partnership plays a crucial role in cross-border mobility on the Iberian Peninsula, facilitating travel for tourists, professional fleets and private drivers between Portugal and Spain, since a driver travelling between the two countries can now use the Electromaps app, or their Electropass card, to easily manage their entire trip and charging needs along the way.
Ricardo Pacheco, Country Manager of Iberdrola | bp pulse in Portugal, highlights this partnership in the context of the company’s commitment to “accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility and make the ultrafast charging network increasingly accessible to users, always with the guarantee of high quality, available power and reliability that characterize our charging points”.
For his part, Xavier Cañadell, CEO of Electromaps, said on the matter that the mission of his company is “to offer the best charging experience, expanding coverage and simplifying the lives of electric vehicle drivers, who now have the entire Iberdrola | bp pulse network visible and available through our app.”
Innovation is one of the pillars of Iberdrola | bp pulse’s strategy. Thanks to this partnership with Electromaps in Portugal, the company makes another contribution toward removing barriers to electric mobility and facilitating the use of charging infrastructure by electric vehicle users.
