Youdera Reaches 2,500 Solar Projects, Strengthens Energy Storage Focus

October 13, 2026

Youdera marks 11 years of activity with more than 2,500 solar energy projects completed in Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, and aims to strengthen its focus on local systems that combine photovoltaic production, battery storage and energy management, according to a press release.

According to the same source, five years after starting operations in Portugal, the company is directing its activity toward decentralized energy solutions installed on the clients’ own facilities, on the consumption side, the so-called behind the meter model.

The strategy involves combining solar production with batteries and digital energy management tools. According to the company, the technology platform, which uses artificial intelligence, enables optimizing the use of locally produced energy and electricity purchased from the grid.

The evolution of the business model is also accompanied by a strengthening of investment capacity. At the beginning of 2026, Youdera closed a strategic round with Amundi Energy Transition, linked to a plan to implement 150 million euros for distributed energy infrastructure.

The funding is to be allocated to the installation of new systems, the incorporation of storage in existing assets, and the acquisition of projects and portfolios already in operation in the three markets where the company is present.

“The fifth anniversary of Youdera’s operation in Portugal is a special occasion. We are very proud of the work we have done in the country so far,” says Pedro Miranda, cofounder and CEO of Youdera.

The company adds that it started by financing solar projects and evolved into a model in which it builds and operates local energy systems at clients’ facilities, combining production, storage and management.

Youdera has set the objective of reaching 500 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity in Portugal, Spain and Switzerland by 2030, through the construction of new generation and storage systems and the acquisition of projects and portfolios already in operation.

In Portugal, the company remains focused on developing local energy systems mainly for the business sector, in a context of demand for solutions that help reduce energy costs and increase the predictability of consumption.

The Energy-as-a-Service model adopted by the company provides that customers do not have to make the initial investment in the equipment, with Youdera responsible for financing, installation and operation of the systems.
