Sociedade Ponto Verde Launches Free Recycling Training for Teachers

October 2, 2026

The Ponto Verde Society (SPV) will provide, in the 2026/2027 school year, a free online training on packaging recycling aimed at teachers and educators. The initiative is part of the Ponto Verde Academy and was announced by the organization on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, celebrated on October 5, as disclosed in a press release.

According to the same source, the training aims to provide the educational community with knowledge, content, and tools that can be used in school contexts, with a focus on packaging recycling and environmental education.

Interested teachers and educators can express their interest by emailing [email protected].

The Ponto Verde Academy was created in 2019 with the aim of bringing packaging recycling closer to schools. According to the Ponto Verde Society, in the 2025/2026 school year, the project reached more than 38,000 students across the country.

For 2026/2027, the organization set a goal of reaching 50,000 students, which represents an increase of about 36% compared with the previous school year, involving a greater number of schools, children and young people.

“Teachers play an essential role in the way children and young people understand the world and learn to participate in it,” says Ana Trigo Morais, CEO of the Ponto Verde Society.

The official adds that the work carried out by teachers allows “to contextualize learning and help transform it into behaviors that extend beyond the school,” underscoring their role in environmental education and in promoting recycling among new generations.
