8th Green Savers Conference Is Tomorrow

October 27, 2026

At the 8th Green Savers Conference, “Leading the Sustainable Transition”, is tomorrow already. This Tuesday, October 27, between 9:00 and 13:00, the Orlando Ribeiro Library Auditorium, in Telheiras, Lisbon, will host a morning of debate that brings together companies, associations, and local government to discuss how to move from intentions to results in the sustainable transition.

After the reception and welcome by Rogério Junior, CEO of Green Savers, the morning opens at 9:25 with Filipe Duarte Santos, president of the National Council for the Environment and Sustainable Development (CNADS), who is the keynote speaker of this edition. A geophysicist and emeritus professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, he is one of Portugal’s reference voices on climate change.

At 9:45, the panel discussion “Transforming: sustainability at the management table” discusses what changes when sustainability reaches investment decisions, the goals of each team, and the way performance is evaluated. It brings together João Lavos, Sustainability Leader at LEROY MERLIN Portugal, Carlos Gouveia, CEO of Scoring, and Rui Nobre, COO of DPD Portugal, with moderation by Marta Rangel.

After the coffee break, at 10:55, the panel “Cooperating: no one closes the cycle alone” looks at the packaging chain from one end to the other, from producer and seller to collector and recycler. They sit at the table: Susana Almeida, Director of Customer Services at Sociedade Ponto Verde, Sandra Peixoto, Sustainability Manager at Central de Cervejas e Bebidas, and João Cordeiro, Executive Director of SDR Portugal, also moderated by Marta Rangel.

The last debate panel, “Mobilizing: the transition at the doorstep”, at 11:40, takes the conversation to neighborhoods, streets, and everyday habits. Participants include Luís Keel Pereira, Environmental and Sustainability Technician at the Lumiar Parish Council, Alexandra Azevedo, President of the National Board of Quercus, and Herculano Rebordão, Coordinator of the Lisbon Local Section of MUBi, with moderation by journalist Alexandra Costa.

The closing, at 12:25, is handled by Maria Albertina Rodrigues, president of the Scientific Council of APEE (Portuguese Association of Business Ethics).
