Meet the Winners of the World Nature Photography Awards 2026

February 25, 2026

In its seventh edition, the World Nature Photography Awards announces the winners for 2026.

The first prize went to Australian photographer Jono Allen, with the image of a completely white humpback whale calf swimming with its mother in the tropical waters off the Vava’u archipelago, in the island state of Tonga, in the southwestern Pacific. This photograph also earned Allen first place in the “Underwater” category.

The contest organizers say that the aim of the World Nature Photography Awards is not only to promote the world’s best nature photographers but also to have a positive and inspiring impact on the planet.

“We believe that all of us can make small efforts to shape the future of our planet in a positive way, and photography can have a great impact by encouraging people to see the world from a different perspective and to change their own habits for the good of the planet,” they state.

See in the gallery below the winners in all 14 categories.
