LIPOR launched a home collection service for objects in good condition. Integrated into the operation of delivering objects in Good Condition, this is a project financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and reinforces LIPOR’s commitment to sustainable resource management and the effective promotion of the circular economy, as announced in a press release.
According to the same source, the operation of delivering objects in Good Condition emerges as a response to a critical need in contemporary society: sustainable resource management and waste reduction. With the initiative, LIPOR proposes an “effective and innovative approach, creating an ecosystem where citizens and organizations can actively contribute to the reuse of goods, extending their useful life and preventing still-functional objects from being prematurely directed for treatment as waste.”
Since 2025, the Operation has been in operation with the delivery of goods in its own containers made available at the Ecocenters of Águas Santas, da Cal, da Formiga, de Laúndos, de Silvalde and Varziela, allowing delivery by individuals and organizations. With the launch of the collection service, LIPOR broadens the reach of the initiative, facilitating citizens’ participation and strengthening the link between goods with reuse potential and their return to households, before they are considered waste.
Objects for decoration, kitchens, storage/organization, furniture, office, lighting, children/baby and garden items are accepted, provided they are in good condition and can be reused, and thus must meet criteria of condition, functionality, safety and hygiene which will be verified during the service request and at the time of collection.
Items excluded from this service are clothing, footwear, refrigerators, stoves, electrical and electronic equipment, namely heating equipment, washing/drying machines, computers and mattresses. Vintage items may be accepted upon assessment.
The home collection service will be carried out by appointment via mobile phone: 910 076 870. More information can be obtained on the LIPOR website.
