IDEA Spaces to Collect Trash at Caxias Beach and Transform It into Art

October 15, 2026

IDEA Spaces, a Portuguese coworking company, will host, on October 17, starting at 3:00 PM, a waste collection action at Caxias Beach, in the municipality of Oeiras, in collaboration with Oceano Sem Plásticos. The initiative includes a Canvas Workshop that will challenge participants to transform part of the collected materials into an artistic canvas, linking environmental awareness with creativity.

“We believe that sustainability is built also through small actions and daily choices. With this initiative, we want to give a second life to the materials we find on the beach, showing that, with imagination, it is possible to look at what we discard in a different way. Additionally, we want to involve the entire IDEA community in this cause, raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and show that taking care of the planet can also be an exercise in creativity, sharing, and collaboration,” underlines Íris Matos, People & Operations Manager of IDEA Spaces, quoted in a press release.

According to the release, at the end of the trash collection, participants will be challenged to use some of the objects found to create a community canvas.

With this initiative, the Portuguese company aims to take its commitment to sustainability beyond its doors and encourage more responsible practices that contribute to a positive environmental and social impact.

The activity developed in partnership with Oceano Sem Plásticos is part of the Be OK! wellness project and IDEA Spaces’ sustainability project, which seek to promote a more positive, inclusive and empathetic culture, involving and inspiring the entire community, inside and outside IDEA Spaces. “More than providing coworking spaces, IDEA Spaces aims to create a community where people relate, share experiences and participate in purpose-driven initiatives,” explains Íris Matos.

The initiative runs from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Caxias Beach, in the municipality of Oeiras.
