Iberdrola | bp pulse continues to strengthen its public high-power charging network in Portugal with the opening of a new hub at Shopping Nova Arcada in Braga, which offers 16 charging points and capacities up to 400 kW, the company disclosed in a press release.
According to the same source, the new infrastructure is located at No. 100, Avenida de Lamas, inside one of Braga’s main shopping centers, which brings together a wide range of shops, dining options and services.
The station enables simultaneous charging for up to 16 electric vehicles, and is equipped with four 400 kW points, two 300 kW points, four 200 kW points and six 50 kW points. In addition, the infrastructure has been designed with the possibility of future expansion, in order to adapt to the evolution of electric mobility demand.
For Ricardo Pacheco, Country Manager of Iberdrola | bp pulse in Portugal, “the opening of this new hub at Shopping Nova Arcada allows us to continue bringing high-power charging to places that are part of users’ daily lives. Our objective is to continue developing a robust and accessible network, with the power and reliability needed for electric mobility to become an increasingly convenient and simple alternative for drivers in Portugal.”
An infrastructure integrated into daily life
The location of the new hub allows charging to be combined with the various services available at Shopping Nova Arcada, including shops, dining, a gym and parking. In this way, the infrastructure integrates into a site of high commercial activity and broadens the charging options available to electric vehicle drivers in Braga and surrounding areas.
The project is being developed in collaboration with Nova Retail Properties – NRP, Unipessoal, Lda., and with the administration of Shopping Nova Arcada, managed by the Sonae Sierra group.
A growing charging network in Portugal
With this new opening, Iberdrola | bp pulse continues to expand its charging infrastructure in Portugal. The company has nearly 600 fast and ultrafast charging points in the country and more than 2,500 points across the Iberian Peninsula, located in strategic locations and with capacities up to 600 kW.
The deployment of new stations in commercial locations and other strategic points aligns with Iberdrola | bp pulse’s objective to remove barriers to access for electric vehicles and to develop a sustainable, robust and accessible high-power public charging network.
