Sustainability and music can go hand in hand, and proof of this is one of Arrábida Music’s stages powered exclusively by solar energy and not connected to the local electrical grid. The E-Stage – Solar Powered Live Events project is integrated into the program of the event promoted by ArrábidaShopping on September 11 and 12, and reinforces the shopping center’s commitment to providing experiences that combine culture, entertainment, and more sustainable solutions, according to a press release.
According to the same source, through an autonomous infrastructure, the energy captured by the solar panels is stored in batteries, which ensure the operation of the equipment necessary for the shows. Thus, the solution allows the elimination of conventional energy sources and the associated emissions, making it possible to perform performances live in a more conscious way.
The concept is also aligned with four United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13 – Climate Action, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
At Arrábida Music, the E-Stage will operate exclusively on Saturday, September 12, receiving two moments of the program: Fada Juju’s show, at 11:30 a.m., and the concert by Anabela Silva and João Gusmão, at 4:00 p.m., for which entry is free, with no bracelet required.
In addition to these moments, the event also features an extended program, highlighted by the concerts of Miguel Araújo on September 11 and Experiencia Queen on the following day, both at 9:30 p.m. For these performances, access to the concerts is free, upon reserve of a bracelet on the ArrábidaShopping site and pickup at the Information Desk, with presentation of a purchase receipt of at least €10. To participate in the remaining activities, no bracelet is required.
“The E-STAGE comes to respond to two needs that Brain identified in the event production area: on the one hand to communicate the importance of respecting the environment, and on the other, to enable longer-running programs, anywhere and without depending on the public grid or fossil-fuel generators,” says Miguel Belo, CEO of Brain Entertainment.
