NAMIBIA: Second PLWHA conference planned
Namibia's second conference on people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) is to take place from 22 to 24 August in the northern region of Oshana.
The gathering, hosted by the Yelula HIV/AIDS Project, will give local PLWHAs, activists and experts an opportunity to interact on issues of reproductive health, anti-AIDS treatment and the stigma associated with infection.
Various international delegates are also expected. "We have invited people from South Africa and Europe, most of them living with the disease, to attend the conference ... it will be the second conference since the one held by Catholic AIDS Action in 1998," the Namibian newspaper quoted Yelula's project officer, Martha Amupolo, as saying.
