RWANDA: Private and public sector AIDS programmes urged

Rwanda's HIV/AIDS Control Commission on Thursday said its new campaign aimed to integrate programmes in the private and public sectors.

"We hope to achieve a high level of involvement," executive secretary of the commission, Dr Agnes Binagwaho, told the UN news service PlusNews.

She said the commission was also seeking new strategies to tackle HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination.

Rwanda has one of the highest HIV infection rates in central Africa, with an estimated 11.3 percent of all adults aged between 15 and 35 living with HIV/AIDS.
