Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra Hosts 7th Sustainable Campus Conference

October 15, 2025

The 7th Sustainable Campus Conference (CCS2025) will take place on 16 and 17 October at Coimbra Business School | Instituto Superior de Contabilidade de Coimbra (CBS | ISCAC), under the theme “Sustainability in Action: Connecting Higher Education Institutions and the Community for a Green Future,” as stated in a press release.

According to the same source, inspired by the principles of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, this conference is co-organised by the Sustainable Campus Network and the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra and underscores the transformative role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in shaping citizens and leaders committed to a more sustainable future.

The event aims to foster co-creation of solutions, the sharing of knowledge, and the exchange of best practices among higher education institutions (HEIs) that contribute to the implementation of measures in support of sustainable development. By bringing academia closer to local communities, CCS2025 promotes dialogue and intersectoral collaboration, expanding the impact of HEIs as catalysts for change.

With a diversified programme, the conference features two plenary sessions, ten parallel sessions, a round table, and six workshops where the challenges to sustainability in HEIs will be debated, with nearly 200 participants acting as active agents. During the conference, the annual meeting of RCS members will also take place.
