GHANA: HIV/AIDS gets top billing at youth conference

JOHANNESBURG, 19 Mar 2004 (PLUSNEWS) - HIV/AIDS has been given top billing at a week-long African student exchange conference and leadership development seminar, currently underway in Ghana's capital, Accra.

The seminar is a subregional meeting of members of AIESEC, an international exchange organisation for under and postgraduate students.

According to a local newspaper, Accra Mail, the Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, advised delegates to channel their potential into productive ventures and not into activities that lead to the spread of HIV/AIDS.
