1. Fourth IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2007)
Registration, abstract submission and exhibition sales for the Fourth International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention
(IAS 2007) to be held in Sydney, Australia, 22 - 25 July 2007, are now available online. www.ias2007.org
IAS 2007 will feature reports on the latest developments in the areas of basic, clinical and prevention science. The conference will continue its strong
emphasis on treatment and pathogenesis, while building upon the biomedical prevention agenda introduced in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2005.
As a defining feature of this conference series, IAS 2007 will examine how scientific advances can, in very practical ways, inform the global response to
HIV/AIDS.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The abstract submission deadline is 7 March 2007, midnight CET (Central European Time). Abstract submission guidelines, programme tracks and other

ONLINE REGISTRATION
To encourage broad participation in the conference, organizers are offering a two-tiered fee structure, with lower registration fees for delegates from
low- and middle-income countries and students/post-docs. Delegates are encouraged to register before 1 February 2007, midnight CET, to avoid a surcharge.

2. Resources for HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration
The Resources for HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration site at: www.hivandsrh.org (formerly www.fpandhiv.org) lists nearly 500 selected resources supporting integration of HIV/AIDS prevention and
treatment and promotion of sexual and reproductive health. The site links to journal articles, reports, conference papers, news and training materials on
topics including:
- Family Planning and Antiretrovirals
- Family Planning and Mother-to-Child-Transmission
- Contraception for HIV-Positive Women
- Community-Based Approaches to Integration
- Microbicides

3. 8th International AIDS Impact Conference - Marseille, France, 1 to 4 July, 2007
Registration and abstract submission is now open for AIDS Impact 2007. The AIDS Impact conference is specifically devoted to Human and Social Sciences in
the field of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The last conference, held in 2005 in Cape Town, South Africa, attracted more than 700 participants from all over the
world. The goal of the conference is to give more space to social sciences research in the field of HIV in developing countries.
Abstract Deadline: 22 January 2007 (abstracts should be submitted in English only and must not have been previously published or presented. They
should be no longer than 300 words.)

1. HIV/AIDS and its Impact on Business in Africa - 22 to 25 January 2007
One of the major challenges facing the continent is to gather resources and translate knowledge and experience into treatment and prevention
programmes.
This conference at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, South Africa, seeks to address the consequences if business continues to ignore current
warnings and statistics.

2. Third South African AIDS Conference 2007 - (call for abstracts)
Dr Olive Shisana, the conference chairperson, has called for the submission of abstracts ahead of the event, which is set to take place at the
International Convention Centre in the port city of Durban from 5 to 8 June 2007.
The deadline for abstract submission is 31 January 2007.

RESOURCES
1. Act, Learn and Teach: Theatre and HIV/AIDS (Youth toolkit)
The UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has released a toolkit for youth in Africa on how to use theatre in AIDS education.
This toolkit was designed for youth groups and is largely based on a workshop held in Uganda, that brought together approximately 30 youth volunteers from
several African countries, as well as Canada and India to learn about the use of interactive theatre in response to the pandemic in English-speaking African
countries.
