The Assistant Country Director - Programmes, is a key member of the CARE Country Office (CO) Senior Management Team.

The Assistant Country Director will have Country Office (CO)-wide responsibilities for developing, overseeing and upgrading the CO's programming across its broad spectrum of development and humanitarian initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Programme Development

• Good familiarity, networking and working relationships with donors and programme staff of CARE International members
• Work with consultants and senior Country Office programme staff on the active development of viable proposals and accurate budgets that are conceptually coherent, of high quality and consistent with best practice for submission to donors
• Familiarity with new directions of CARE International and the international development community and the ability to incorporate them into new, innovative programming
• A working knowledge of donor requirements and formats
