1. WAD 2005 Publication-Celebrating HIV Positive Fathers

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), in collaboration with the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+), has launched its World AIDS Day 2005 publication on the sexual lives, and dreams and desires, of thirteen HIV-positive fathers around the world.

This publication recognises that HIV-positive fathers are key agents of change in the HIV/AIDS pandemic, playing a pivotal role in shaping the lives of their children and families, and seeks to:

- Increase awareness about positive prevention issues, and the urgent need to listen to the voices of people living with HIV/AIDS;

- Raise awareness of the important role of men as partners in empowering their partners and children;

- Provide honest and candid stories about HIV-positive fathers that are open about their status and are speaking out as role models in their community;
