1. International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programmes

The International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programmes (ICAP) at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health is seeking clinicians (doctors, nurses, PAs) with experience in treating HIV/AIDS to provide technical and programmatic assistance to international sites and programmes receiving support from ICAP. These positions are based in New York, but will require a significant amount of international travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide technical assistance for the development and support of clinical resources and clinical activities at sites receiving support from the International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health
  • To work with the Clinical Unit (www.columbia-icap.org) to provide programmatic and scientific technical support to ICAP country teams
  • To work with the Clinical Unit, Leadership Group, and ICAP country teams to provide direct technical assistance on clinical activities to programme managers and healthcare facilities implementing and/or expanding HIV/AIDS treatment programmes in sub-Saharan Africa
  • To work with the Clinical Unit, Leadership Group, and ICAP country teams to support and enhance on-site precepting of clinicians at HIV/AIDS care and treatment programmes in sub-Saharan Africa. This may include mentoring of clinicians as they see patients, assisting ICAP country team clinicians in developing mentoring/precepting skills, development and delivery of in-service training and continuing clinical education, facilitation of multidisciplinary team meetings, and/or design and implementation of quality improvement projects in partnership with site clinicians and managers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • For Associate Research Scientist: MD, PhD, EdD, or other equivalent degree plus related experience, preferably in developing country healthcare programmes
  • For Senior Staff Associate: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 8 years of related experience, preferably in healthcare delivery or programming and/or significant experience in developing-country healthcare programmes
  • For Staff Associate: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 4 years of related experience, preferably in healthcare delivery or programming and/or significant experience in developing-country healthcare programmes.
