1. Health and Nutrition Program Manager - Sudan

An experienced Health Advisor is needed to provide technical leadership and direction to the health and nutrition programming of the international NGO, Save the Children, in areas including maternal/infant health, child health, nutrition, adolescent reproductive health, and infectious and sexually transmitted diseases, such as TB, malaria and HIV/AIDS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing twenty health facilities and five large health centres, supervising a staff of over four hundred, managing a US $3 million budget and related grant funding activities
  • Representing Save the Children with local partners in health programming
  • Supporting and strengthening capacity in service delivery, health information systems, health education and behaviour change
  • Developing and strengthening collaborative relationships with the health department at national, provincial and district levels where the programme operates
  • Assisting in programme design, planning and implementation
  • Providing technical oversight of monitoring and evaluation of health programmes, including monitoring indicators, design of data collection methodologies and analysis and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree a must, additional Master's Degree in Public Health preferred
  • Minimum of 5-8 years' previous work experience in health- and nutrition-related programmes
  • Must have experience in large field-programme design, development and implementation
  • Excellent understanding of maternal/child health and nutrition issues
  • Ability to travel nationally and able to motivate staff
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Access
  • Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
