1. Global AIDS Programme Director

The Global AIDS Programme Director, based in Lusaka, Zambia. This newly created role will provide vision and leadership to the programme.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Establishing many of the structures within which you work
  • Supporting the progressive scaling-up of the programme's operations
  • Coordinating our current programme of activities
  • Sharing the experiences gained by Panos with an international audience, through a range of activities, including a high-profile series of editorial outputs

REQUIRMENTS:

  • At least 7 years' international experience in the field of HIV/AIDS, with specific experience in the role of media and communication in a developing country context
  • At least 3 years' experience in a senior management position, with direct responsibility for people and budgets
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven networking and negotiating skills
  • Experience of fundraising from international donors
  • Ability to present complex arguments accessibly, galvanising support in a wide range of audiences
  • Fluent in English and, ideally, in at least one other relevant language

Salary $55,000 to $65,000

2. Programme Coordinator HIV/AIDS Programme

The HIV Programme Coordinator, based in Bangladesh, provides overall leadership and direction to HIV-related projects and activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programmatic, administrative and financial aspects of planning and implementation
  • Representation and donor liaison for current and new projects
  • Determine the course of CARE's interaction with implementing partners, self-help organisations representing programme beneficiaries, relevant government institutions, press and other stakeholders
  • Guide the HIV programme and its staff in evolving towards a resource programme with an outspoken focus on rights issues
  • Responsible for staff training and coaching, networking and liaison inside CARE International and external to CARE, as well as other main responsibilities

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Social Science or other relevant field.
  • 5 years' experience in health-related programming, preferably in Asia
  • Solid technical, management, programmatic and administrative skills
  • Strong staff development skills, in particular training/facilitation skills
  • Able to think strategically and build productive relationships with national and international organisations
  • Strong cross-cultural, analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication (verbal and non-verbal) skills
  • Capable of drafting in English, to donor satisfaction, project proposals and reports
  • Excellent computer skills (Windows applications, Word, Excel)
