1. Senior HIV/AIDS Advisor - Washington DC

The Academy for Educational Development (AED), an independent, non-profit organisation with major areas of focus on health, education, youth development and the environment invites applications from competent, qualified, dynamic and committed individuals for the position of Senior HIV/AIDS Advisor in Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior HIV/AIDS Advisor will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic guidance on state-of-the-art knowledge about HIV/AIDS and nutrition, providing technical assistance to strengthen implementation of HIV/AIDS activities, developing and reviewing technical documents on HIV/AIDS, and coordinating with other Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance (FANTA) staff, including regional staff, to plan and implement technical assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master's in Nutrition or Public Health, Ph.D. preferred, with at least seven years' work experience
  • At least five years' technical expertise in international nutrition, HIV/AIDS or other health-related work
  • USAID experience, excellent English written and verbal communications skills with superior presentation skills are essential
  • Analytical, managerial and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to work in teams
  • French language ability desired
