1. HIV/AIDS Programme Specialist - Pretoria, South Africa

The global community building initiative, Pact, invites applications from competent, qualified, dynamic and committed individuals for the positions of HIV/AIDS Programme Specialist and HIV/AIDS Senior Technical Advisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the senior technical advisor in all aspects of the HIV/AIDS grants programme
  • Assist in the development and finalization of programme strategies, programme reports, work plans and budgets with the full Community REACH team
  • Assist in preparation of RFAs and in managing the RFA process
  • Assist with administration duties of application process
  • Provide oversight to grantee programmes, ensuring compliance with financial and programmatic reporting requirements
  • Review grantee programme reports and provide feedback on contents, follow-up on any deficiencies or problem areas detected
  • Conduct site visits of grantee programmes in various provinces and provide feedback for programme improvement
  • Compile regular technical status reports on grantee projects for consolidation in Community REACH programme reporting to USAID.
  • Assist in the coordination of technical assistance activities
  • Coordinate data quality evaluation activities to ensure that data supports the achievement of programme objectives
  • Represent Community REACH at meetings, as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the senior technical advisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Equivalent MPA or eight years of experience in community-based HIV/AIDS programming
  • Five years or more work experience in the HIV/AIDS sector, specific experience in South Africa preferred
  • Strong network of individuals and organisations with expertise in HIV/AIDS
  • Experience in working on a USAID grants programme preferred
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS monitoring and evaluation preferred
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • Ability to work in small team settings
  • Strong computer skills
