1. Programme Manager/ART Coordinator - Catholic Relief Services (CRS) - Nigeria

The suitable candidate will coordinate the implementation efforts of the antiretroviral therapy (ART) project, ensuring programme quality standards and donor requirements are met in building a sustainable faith-based approach that provides comprehensive and sustainable care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS.

The coordinator will report to the HIV/AIDS Health Section head, while maintaining close working relationships with the country representative, head of programming, and all CRS/Nigeria HIV/AIDS unit staff, particularly the ART programme manager, as well as the Country Technical Coordinating Team (CTCT).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership for Consortium members' implementation of the ART project in Nigeria.
  • Lead strategic planning and ensure alignment of decision-making, goal-setting and problem-solving for CRS.
  • In coordination with the country representative, serve as primary representative of the CRSC to the host government and local and international press in informing them about operations.
  • Ensure effective coordination and information sharing with the US President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) programmes, USAID, partners, host government and other donors to avoid duplication of activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medical degree (MD)
  • Minimum five years in the developing world in project management positions
  • Experience in coordination of multi-agency programming
  • Strong preference for candidates with at least five years' experience in HIV/AIDS programming and providing technical assistance to partner organisations
  • Ability to professionally represent CRS to host government and other organisations
  • Knowledge of CRS policy operations and procedures highly desirable
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently with ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training
  • Experience in designing and implementing participatory planning and evaluation methods
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly
  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
