1. Behaviour Change Communications Training Consultants: National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) of the Government of Botswana

The National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) of the Government of Botswana (www.naca.gov.bw) requires short-term (flexible 4 to 12 month) behaviour change communications training consultants to round out a three-member consulting team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and pilot a training programme and manual in behaviour change interventions and communications programme development (Phase I)
  • Train a local six-person training staff in sustainable implementation of the programme, to technically equip training staff to offer training and direct consultation in behaviour change interventions and communications development (Phase II)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate-level coursework in health behaviour and health education principles for practice
  • Minimum of four years of experience in public health programme planning, implementation and training - preferably related to HIV/AIDS
  • An international expert in behaviour change communications for community mobilisation related to HIV/AIDS
  • And/or demonstrated experience as a master trainer of trainers
  • Excellent English writing and full computer literacy
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in writing/designing training manuals, including desktop publishing design experience
  • Solid grasp of training principles and methods, and international intervention and communication best practice strategies relevant to the challenges posed by the epidemic in Botswana

Team members will together stockpile proficiencies in training, health communications and behavioural science, formative evaluation and qualitative methods skills, intervention and communications development experience relevant to HIV/AIDS, and monitoring and evaluation skills.
