ADENE – Agency for Energy organizes, on 25 and 26 November 2025, at the Belém Cultural Center (CCB), the 2nd National Meeting of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, bringing together political decision-makers, experts, local authorities, companies and sector bodies to discuss the challenges and opportunities of local climate action, according to a press release.
According to the same source, at a crucial moment for meeting national and European targets for 2030 and 2050, the meeting reinforces the role of local authorities as central agents of decarbonization, the energy transition, and the promotion of nearby renewable energy projects, such as Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and Collective Self-Consumption (CSC).
During the two days, solutions will be analyzed to accelerate decentralized energy production, combat energy poverty, and drive a just transition that benefits families, businesses, and the entire territory. The Energy and Behavior Forum will also be officially launched, an initiative of the European Commission that supports municipalities in promoting behavioral changes in energy matters.
The second day is devoted to the European network of energy agencies, with the EnR Thinking Group Meeting 2025 taking place, focused on international cooperation and strengthening local climate action policies.
